GEO & AI visibility

Help customers find your brand in AI answers.

When someone asks an AI assistant about your market, you want your business to be represented clearly and accurately. I help you understand where your brand appears, what the answers say and which gaps are worth addressing.

The work starts with measurement, then moves into practical improvements to your content, brand information and website. You'll get a clear explanation of the findings and how they inform the next step.

What GEO and AEO mean for your business

Generative engine optimisation, or GEO, focuses on how a brand and its content appear in AI-generated answers. Answer engine optimisation, or AEO, is a related term used for work around direct answers. The labels overlap, and the terminology can be less useful than the questions behind it: does your brand appear, is the information accurate and what can you improve?

I approach those questions through research, technical SEO and content work. The aim is to make your business easier to find and understand, while measuring what the answers show.

Where I can help

AI visibility audit

The paid audit gives you a starting point for the work. I test questions about your market, compare your brand with named competitors and check the answers for inaccurate information.

The standard audit costs £4,000 and covers one brand, three competitors and 50 prompts across ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity. It also checks Google AI Overviews for 20 tracked keywords. You'll receive a report, a prioritised action plan and a 60-minute walkthrough within two weeks of kickoff.

Clearer brand information

If an assistant confuses your business with another organisation, I investigate the information available about both. That can reveal inconsistent names, outdated descriptions or important details missing from your own site.

The work may include clearer business and product information, relevant structured data and corrections to sources you can influence. I explain which changes are within your control and where a third party needs to act.

Useful, well-supported content

I help you develop content around the questions your customers ask. That might mean explaining a service more clearly, adding evidence to a claim or giving a useful topic the attention it needs.

The priorities come from the audit and your wider search work. Content should help the person reading it and make its information easy to interpret and check.

Ongoing measurement

For ongoing work, I repeat the checks and compare the results with the starting point. We look at mentions, accuracy, cited sources and how the picture compares with your competitors.

The reporting explains what changed and what remains uncertain. It also records relevant changes to the test conditions, so a different model or method doesn't pass unnoticed as an improvement in your visibility.

How we work together

01

Measure the starting point.

We agree the questions, competitors and markets that matter. I record the answers and the sources they cite.

02

Investigate the gaps.

I check inaccurate descriptions, missing information and relevant cited pages. Those findings help identify useful changes, although they won't explain every answer a model produces.

03

Make the agreed improvements.

We prioritise the technical and content work. I can carry it out or support your team with the parts they own.

04

Review what changes.

If we continue with measurement, I repeat the checks monthly and explain how the results compare with the earlier findings.

Situations where this can help

Your brand is missing from relevant answers

The audit shows which tested questions include your business and which include competitors. We can then look at the topics and sources involved, alongside your existing content and search performance.

Your business is being described incorrectly

A similar company name, a change in ownership or an old product description can make the information difficult to interpret. I document the errors found and investigate the sources that may need attention.

You need a clearer basis for investment

If your team is deciding how much time to put into AI visibility, a measured starting point can help. It gives you specific findings to discuss and a prioritised plan to assess alongside other marketing work.

What the measurements tell us

What I check What it helps us understand The limit to keep in mind
Brand mentions Whether you appear in the answers tested A sample doesn't represent every customer question.
Accuracy Whether descriptions match verified information about your business This covers the answers tested, rather than every possible error.
Citations Which pages an answer names as sources A citation doesn't necessarily mean an endorsement.
Competitor presence How your visibility compares within the same set of questions The result depends on the questions, engines and conditions used.
Changes over time How results differ between checks Model updates and answer variation can affect the comparison.

Questions about GEO and AI visibility

Is GEO the same as SEO?

There is substantial overlap. Clear content, accessible pages and accurate information matter to both. AI visibility work adds direct checks of AI answers and their sources, alongside the search measures your team may already use.

I'll explain which recommendations support both areas, so you can plan the work together.

Which AI assistants are covered?

The standard paid audit covers ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity, plus Google AI Overviews for 20 tracked keywords. We agree the coverage for any wider engagement before it starts. Google AI Mode isn't part of that standard scope.

Can you guarantee that my brand will be recommended?

No. I can investigate the answers, improve information you control and measure what changes. I can't control whether an AI assistant mentions or recommends your business in a particular answer.

How quickly will I see results?

The standard audit is delivered within two weeks of kickoff. Changes in AI answers can take longer and won't follow a fixed timetable. We agree the implementation priorities first, then use later checks to see whether the results change.

Do I still need traditional SEO?

Your search work should reflect how customers find and choose your business. AI visibility usually sits alongside SEO, rather than replacing it. For Google's AI features, the established SEO fundamentals remain relevant.

Do I need llms.txt or special AI markup?

I check whether search systems can access and interpret your important pages, and whether your structured data matches the content. If an existing llms.txt file needs review, that can form part of the technical work. I don't treat the file as a requirement for AI visibility or a guarantee of citations.

Where are you based?

I'm based in Brighton and work remotely with businesses across the UK and beyond. You'll work directly with me, including the conversations about findings, priorities and progress.

Find out what the robots say about you.

The free check asks three questions across three AI models and emails you the results. It's a small sample that can help you decide what you'd like to investigate next.

If you're ready for a broader review, the paid audit adds competitor analysis, checks for inaccurate information and a prioritised plan.
